Over the 6 decades I have been alive, I have become stronger and stronger in the arena of taking care of myself. However this past weekend I attended a convention in Nashville where I did not plan ahead and make sure that the situation would truly support me. I did not account for my age and physical condition in making plans for the trip and wound up in a situation that was overly taxing. The convention itself was nurturing and inspiring but because I did not care for myself, I am less productive this week than I would like to be.
What I learned from this experience is to take the time to assess what will empower me on all of my upcoming trips so that I come back and not lose any productivity. This will include taking healthy food along, having upscale accommodations, wearing the proper shoes and bringing what I need to make sure I sleep well.
I would love to hear what you do to take care of yourself?
“If you celebrate your differentness, the world will, too. It believes exactly what you tell it—through the words you use to describe yourself, the actions you take to care for yourself, and the choices you make to express yourself. Tell the world you are one-of-a-kind creation who came here to experience wonder and spread joy. Expect to be accommodated.”
